The project would take these tourist centres to Green Certification platform by making them the focus of eco-friendly and responsible tourism activities.

A decision in this regard was taken on Thursday at a two-day workshop held to mark the launch of HXM 630-II Clean Kerala Initiative' piloted by Responsible Tourism Mission (RT) with the co-operation of stakeholders in the tourism sector. The programme was organised by RT Mission, in association with Kerala Travel Mart (KTM) and local self- government institutions, to push the plans to keep prime tourism destinations plastic and garbage-free.As per the action plan, at least two of these centres would be converted into RT-practising destinations before December 31. Nine destinations -- Kovalam, Munnar, Alappuzha, Kumarakom, Wayanad, Fort Kochi, Kollam, Thekkady, and Bakel -- have been identified for the implementation of the new project in the first phase from a list of 21 destinations. Coordinator of Kerala RT Mission Rupeshkumar K presented a draft of classification # guidelines for destination certification and roadmap for 'Clean Kerala Initiative. On a concluding day, cloth bags for the selected nine destinations were distributed.

The tourism industry in Kerala has unanimously agreed on an action plan for implementing a 'Green Code of Conduct' in nine major tourist destinations and accommodation units in the state.'With the implementation of the project in places where RT activities in socio-economic sectors have already become successful, the state would have tourism destinations that have adopted cent per cent RT initiatives.

Besides, by September 30, possible accommodation units in different parts would be declared plastic-free.Tourism minister Kadakampally Surendran had launched the initiative on Wednesday. Consultant of Haritha Keralam Mission N Jagajeevan inaugurated the programme by handing over a cloth bag president, Kerala Travel Mart (KTM), Baby Mathew Somatheeramn.

While they were dating, Mohammad grew suspicious that Sultana was having an affair with someone else and slipped into depression.Mohammad Ajiz Mohammad Ali Mujavar, the accused, allegedly committed the crime because he found out that Sultana Niyaz Khan, the deceased woman he was dating, was having an affair.

Crime Branch officials immediately nabbed Mujavar from his residence and after rigorous questioning, he allegedly admitted to killing Sultana. During her stay, she grew close to Mujavar, a rickshaw driver. The police then asked Sultana’s brother to identify the body, but since the body’s face was cut diagonally, it was difficult to identify it.When Sultana visited him Tuesday night, he hit her on the head, immediately knocking her out. Mohammad had done a recce of the house and kept all his weapons in place, sources said. The following night Sultana’s brother approached the Panvel police and lodged a missing complaint on December 29. Sultana (35), a mother of three, had filed for divorce from her husband and was living separately in Sukhapur, Panvel. After putting her body pieces into plastic bags, he took them near a farm in Panvel in his autorickshaw and disposed it there. Following this, he slit her head with a butcher knife, cutting her into pieces with a sickle and an axe, sources said.

The police has arrested a 25-year-old man in connection with the shocking incident where the body of an unidentified woman was found chopped into 13 pieces and packed in plastic bags in Panvel on Wednesday. When the police tracked the location of Sultana’s mobile, they found Mujavar’s number and location to have been at the same spot at the same time.. The accused rented a house in Panvel to kill Sultana and asked her to visit him there. When the police showed the clothes worn by the body, her brother identified it as his sister. When PET injection molding machine the accused realised she was cheating on him, he allegedly hatched a plan to kill her. When the body was found, the police also found a bag full of clothes and sent the body for post-mortem.

These optical cubes are placed on an electronic base station that transmits data to a smartphone or computer where the results can be displayed."Rapid and efficient diagnosis of the pathogen is a critical first step in choosing the appropriate antibiotic regimen, and this system could provide that information in a physician's office in less than two hours," said Ralph Weissleder from Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) in the US.While considered the gold standard for diagnosing bacterial infections, traditional culture-based diagnosis can take several days and requires specialised equipment, trained laboratory personnel and procedures that vary depending on the particular pathogen, researchers said."We can see three immediate applications for a system that can provide such rapid China PET injection molding machine and accurate results - quickly diagnosing a patient's infection, determining whether antibiotic-resistant bacteria are present in a group of patients, and detecting bacterial contamination of medical devices or patient environments," said Hakho Lee from MGH. Bacterial RNA is extracted from a sample in a small, disposable plastic cartridge, researchers said.

The system dubbed PAD for Polarisation Anisotropy Diagnostics, allows for accurate genetic testing in a simple device. The system would allow point-of-care diagnosis, as it does not require the facilities and expertise available only in hospital laboratories Washington: A new device which may shorten the time required to rapidly diagnose bacterial infections from days to hours has been developed by researchers. The system would allow point-of-care diagnosis, as it does not require the facilities and expertise available only in hospital laboratories, researchers said. But while PAD provided results in less than two hours, the bacterial culture process took three to five days, they said. For the study, researchers used a prototype PAD system containing four optical cubes to test clinical samples from nine patients and compared the results with those acquired by conventional microbiology cultures. The findings were published in the journal Science Advances.

Emerging genetic approaches that identify bacterial species by their nucleic acid sequences are powerful but stillrequire complex equipment and workflows, restricting such testing to specialised hospital laboratories, they said. Following polymerase chain reaction amplification of the RNA, the material is loaded into a two centimetre plastic cube containing optical components that detect target RNAs based on the response to a light signal of sequence-specific detectionprobes, they said..Testing for the presence of five important bacterial species - E coli, Klebsiella, Acinetobacter, Pseudomonas and Staph aureus - and for factors indicating the virulence and antibiotic resistance of specific strains produced identical results with both procedures, researchers said.

The banks were doing the Reserve Bank’s bidding, and it was just another thoughtless diktat, like so many others announced after the November 8 demonetisation of Rs 1,000 and Rs 500 currency notes that had to be rolled back. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had sought 50 days, till December 31, for things to stabilise after the demonetisation.. The basic point is that so many decisions are being taken without consideration of the consequences. Black money is generated afresh every day, and there’s no word on how this can be stopped as the politicians themselves appear involved.Union finance minister Arun Jaitley seems quite happy that his tax collections have risen in November-December despite the demonetisation.

This deadline has passed, and he is silent on the persisting chaos, with people still not able to freely access their own money. The Rs 2,000 note (which many people find little use for) is being dispensed liberally as Rs 500 notes are still in short supply and Rs 1,000 notes aren’t back. The ATMs of even India’s largest bank, State Bank of India, are still “dry” at several places across the country, as they don’t get enough cash from the RBI. Why did the RBI and banks not discuss the pros and cons before issuing diktats.

They have gone through immense hardships after the demonetisation. The government has done well to quell, temporarily at least, the protest by petrol pump owners against the move by the banks to levy a transaction charge on credit/debit cards and other plastic money while buying fuel. One doesn’t know how long this will last. Rural India has been hit the hardest. Terror attacks continue and bribery goes on merrily. But at what cost? Thousands of daily wage earners have lost jobs across the country as their employers had no cash to pay them. The petrol pumps get just two and a half per cent commission and there are now 60-70 per cent customers paying in plastic money at petrol pumps. On Monday it was decided that banks and oil companies will share the costs HXH 350 of such transactions and consumers and pump owners would not be charged. People are no longer docile. At first, they were allowed to take old notes till December 31, but when some protested they were being used as dumping grounds for demonetised currency and had no change to return, this was withdrawn. Now, when the pump owners threatened to stop accepting credit/debit cards, the charges were withdrawn. In this case, the pumps were being made scapegoats. So the one per cent levy some private sector banks decided to demand Saturday night turned out to be a nightmare. It is inexplicable why all those affected and all stakeholders aren’t consulted when far-reaching decisions are taken.

Over 21 lakh businesses have filed July GSTR-2 and the due date for filing has been extended by a month to November 30.It was in favour of doing away with the tax rate distinction between AC and non-AC restaurants, those which are not covered under the composition scheme and tax them at a flat 12 per cent. 3B is required to be filed by the 20th of next month. The final GST returns are to be filed by submitting forms GSTR-1, 2 and 3.

The Assam finance minister-headed GoM has already suggested allowing all businesses to file quarterly returns under the GST regime, akin to those businesses whose monthly turnover is up to Rs 1.While a regular taxpayer has to pay taxes on a monthly basis, a composition supplier is required to file only one return and pay taxes on a quarterly basis.Guwahati: The GST Council may on Friday consider reducing items in the 28 per cent tax slab and slash rates for daily use items, plastic products and hand-made furniture as it looks to provide relief to consumers.Businesses have to file returns in GSTR-1, GSTR-2 and GSTR-3 forms for every month.

Tax rate on items like furniture, electric switches and plastic pipes could be relooked at," an official said. The official further said that GSTR-3B might be extended beyond December as the government feels that businesses have adapted themselves to the system. The 23rd meeting of the Council, being held here, will also deliberate on the suggestions made by Assam Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma-headed GoM to cut tax rates for the composition scheme businesses to 1 per cent and lower rates for non-AC restaurants. The businesses have initially filed sales returns or GSTR-3B and paid taxes. However, for those who pay tax on total turnover, the tax rate has been proposed at 0. Businesses have also complained of trouble in invoice matching while filing GSTR-2."It would be reviewed whether matching of invoices should be done every month or that should be made only quarterly," the official added. With a view to easing compliance burden of taxpayers, the Council is also going to review the requirement of filing three returns every month under the GST set-up. These sales returns will have to be matched with the purchase invoice to be filed in GSTR-2. Currently, non-AC restaurants are taxed at 18 per cent.5 crore. The first three months of GST rollout have earned a cumulative revenue, including Integrated GST collections, of around Rs 2.The Council, comprising state finance ministers, is also set to review the GST returns filing cycle and make it taxpayer friendly. As the Council tries to accommodate industry concerns on tax rates, after estimating the impact on revenue, a rationalisation of items in the 28 per cent tax bracket is expected. The review follows businesses complaining about problems in matching invoices while filing July returns. These forms detail outward supplies of taxable goods and/or services, inward supplies for claiming input tax credit and monthly returns. With regard to traders, the GoM came up with a two-pronged approach for taxation under the composition scheme. After matching of GSTR-1 and 2, the businesses will have to file July GSTR-3, the last date China wholesale double color injection molding machine for which is December 11.78 lakh crore for the exchequer.Over 47 lakh businesses have filed GSTR-1 return for July.It also suggested that eating out at hotels that have room tariff of more than Rs 7,500 should attract a uniform 18 per cent rate instead of any separate category for 5-star hotel, which currently falls under the 28 per cent bracket.Four months after the Goods and Services Tax (GST) was rolled out, the panel headed by Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley will look at the most comprehensive overhaul of rates, easing returns filing and providing more relief to small and medium enterprises, official sources said..The GoM had also suggested slashing tax rate to 1 per cent for manufacturers and restaurants opting for the scheme from 2 per cent and 5 per cent, respectively. It suggested that traders who want to exclude sale proceeds of tax-free items from turnover can pay 1 per cent GST.

Besides, making the composition scheme more attractive is on the agenda and as per the Group of Ministers (GoM) recommendations, the Council may decide to allow businesses in inter-state trade to opt for the arrangement."Most of the daily-use items like shampoo could be lowered to 18 per cent. The Council may on Friday rationalise rates in sectors where the total incidence of taxation has gone up because the goods were either exempt from excise or attracted lower VAT rates under the previous indirect tax regime.5 per cent.GSTR-3B was introduced for making compliance easy and would be available only till December.
